Feedback Sheet 2 Write-Up

After having my first initial meeting with my client, i discussed my products and then went and made my final products, i ensured that i had made all the correct changes to my pieces that myself and the client spoke about previously. The negatives i received from my second part of feedback were extremely minimal, one was that the social networking icons included on my magazine advert poster were too 'in your face' and after discussing with the client, we agreed they would have looked better had been placed in the corner of the page, and not of such large size. Another negative with the advert magazine poster was that the website link included at the bottom which says ''www.theyouth.com'' should be removed, and the youth text placed across the models eyes should be replaced with ''www.theyouth.com'' instead, this would keep the poster bold, and be less cluttered and i agreed with the client that this would be a good decision. The only other negative was that the text included on the flyer should be right alined, the rest was all good. The positives remained very similar to the ones i received on the first initial client feedback, the client explained they were extremely impressed with the consistent colour used throughout all the designs, and they also stated how pleased they were by the designing of the 3 products, especially the website in particular. The client also explained that all the potential changes that i made from the first initial feedback were all extremely good, and that fonts and grammar used for the text were proffesional and suited the genre they were made for. The client also said about the creation of a logo, previously we had said that the products lacked a recognisable image, so i decided to create a logo which looked proffesional and suited the genre and in general the client was pleased with the creation of the logo. Overall i received a few negative points, but received a lot more positive comments on my work, i am pleased overall with the way i have presented my work and the design and effort i have put into designing and presenting it.

Unit Evaluation

My overall feeling with unit 17 is that it went extremely good, i have developed different promotional material such as a flyer, website, and also a magazine article. I believe that i have met the purpose very well, and have achieved a great appeal to the target audience, this is due to the amount of time and effort i have spent ensuring my designing is to the highest quality. I have ensured that the products i have created suit the age genre that i intend on reaching. The design of all 3 products are linked by the colours used, and the images and use of modern grammar and social media icons, show the intent of ensuring that the products are aimed at teenagers onwards. The feedback in which i had received, was overall extremely positive, i was told that the way in which i had designed the products was extremely professional and had all the correct conventions of a modern day clothing brand. Another reference from the client was that the images used were great, the client stated that the images represented the company in a professional, elegant manner, and the images were colourful, and suited the products they were used upon extremely well. Another reference from the client was that the company lacked a standout logo, this is because the company needs to be recognized from the rest and had i created a logo in my initial designs it would have made the products more recognizable, however i decided to create a logo, so for the final drafts of my products they included one and made the company stand out and recognizable from the rest of the clothing industry. When comparing my website, the flyer and magazine advert poster with professional similar websites, I realized how well i have designed my products, the designing and layouts of the products i created were extremely well matched for proffesional existing clothing brands, the website layout, images, text, design was as proffesional as any high street brand, i made the company website realistic and ensured that it fit the genre of a clothing brands online store. The flyer and magazine advert poster was also very similarly detailed and was very well matched for a proffesional clothing brands flyer and magazine advert, the colours used and structure and also the persuasive wording used wasn't too in your face and emphasized class and professionalism for the company. The use of equipment used was mainly photoshop, i have previously worked with this product and adapted and gained many skills and can use the software with ease, i used photoshop as i am extremely familiar with it, and it allows me to create high quality work which not only looks good, but shows off professionalism and class. I got the photographer to take the images as the camera they used was far superior to mine, and the photographer was proffesional and took good high quality images which i was very pleased with. I responded extremely well to my clients first set of feedback, i knew that i could improve my work and i knew i could ensure that the first drafts were adapted and made into a more proffesional, higher standard. I was happy with the majority of my feedback as it was mainly all positive. Even though the majority of my feedback was all positive there was one or two negative points about the designs, so i know i could ensure that the images used have a little more appeal, i will make them more stand out and more colourful. I will also take into account the wording and take a second look and make sure it is worded correctly and well mannered. Another suggested improvement could be the sizing of the images, i thought some were a little too small and didn't fit the pages correctly, so this could be corrected.

Feedback Write-Up

I discussed my work during the client meeting, having shown my work, and discussed it thoroughly with them, i have received both positive and negative feedback on my work and presentation. The negatives from the meeting were that the images included on the website were too plain and didn't have enough effects on them, so i have decided that when creating my final draft i shall ensure that the images included on the website are vibrant, and stand out with professional effects. One of the main things that we discussed during the meeting was that there was lack of brand recognition on all three products, such as an icon or logo. We discussed that the products needed something to link them together, and something to make the brand stand out, so for my final drafts i shall create a professional looking logo that will feature on each product and make them stand out and look creative. Another negative was that on the magazine advert poster i had included a huge 10% off sign, but after detailed discussion we agreed this cast shadow upon the rest of the work and made the work look less detailed and unprofessional, so i have decided that when creating the final draft, i will ensure that it will be removed. After discussing my flyer during the client meeting, we decided that the flyer lacked a link too  the website and also the magazine advert poster, this was due to the colour i used and also the structure of how i laid it out was poor, i have decided to ensure that in my final draft that the colour matches that of the website and magazine poster advert, and also that the structure looks professional and advertises the company in a effective manner. Despite these negatives, i received great positive feedback otherwise, the clients discussed how professional, slick, and elegant my website looked, they liked the professional layout, the good quality images used, and the grammar and structure used. The clients also stated that the colour scheme which i used made the company seem reliable, and would represent the company in a great manner. They also praised my advert poster and stated that it had great potential with a few tweaks, they liked the inclusion of social media icons as during modern times, social media plays a huge part in online advertisement.
